Ten years later, Business Not As Usual Entrepreneur Institute Inc, "Teen Entrepreneur Series" has empowered 167 teens in business and leadership skills with it specially designed 7-week teen entrepreneur curriculum. The TES community professionals and entrepreneurs have volunteered their time to empower our teens with the history of Black entrepreneurs, financial literacy and networking skills, along with assisting them in developing their business plan. BNUEI teens are receiving the tools they will need to better compete in the marketplace.
Rayla Johnson received a B. A.
Degree in Psychology at Salem State and a master’s degree in psychology MHC, from Cambridge College. Raylan is a BNUEI alumna who attended TES in 2015. She learned from her grandmother how to knit and would knit at home. At that time, she did not think knitting could be a business for her. After learning the many business techniques, marketing, and financial management, Rayla stated “that she was ready to start her own business by selling knitted items.” Rayla has a passion for modeling and has done several commercials.
Apostle William E. Dickerson II is the founding pastor of Greater Love Tabernacle and the president of Restoration Outreach Inc., both of Boston, Massachusetts. His ministry is very powerful and versatile transcending all social, economic, and educational levels. As a pastor, he addresses critical issues of the day, for all ages, and faces them with hands on approach. Apostle Dickerson is married to his childhood sweetheart, Lady Luella Dickerson. They have three adult children and six grandchildren.
Jared Powell joined the BNUEI roster
of TES speakers in 2016 and has empowered the teens with English and science skills. Mr. Powell received his bachelor’s degree in English from Northeastern University in 2016 and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University in 2020. Currently he is a doctoral student and a science teacher in
Concord, Massachusetts. He is married to his beautiful wife, Mary Powell, and they are the proud parents of a wonderful baby boy,
Our Goal
To empower teens with access to networking skills in order to develop partnerships with business owners, seek mentorship and establish their business within their community.
BNUEI alumna, Vanessa Gracious Gift, a student at Berklee College of Music provided a musical selection and was accompanied by Berklee students Julian on drums and Josiah on keyboard.
BNUEI teens have successfully launched their own jewelry and artwork businesses, written books, raised funds for their community and have taken leadership roles in colleges such as Spelman, Lesley University, Maritime Academy, Bentley University, and the Boston Police Academy.

Your donation helps us provide leadership and business development training, resources, programs material and scholarship that support teens academic and personal growth.
The first Lunch for a Cause was launched in August 2018 to raise funds for the Teen Entrepreneur Series. The BNUEI Board of Directors know that it takes a village to successfully equip our teens to succeed. BNUEI in encourage family, friends, community organization and all who have a heart for the youth to take this opportunity to invest financially in their future.
The Lunch for a Cause gives the teens an opportunity to participate as youth vendors and to share their goals, talents and future endeavors with guest.
Our diverse team of empowering speakers are passionate about assisting, parents teens and guest in understanding the educational, mental health, and social media culture that are facing our youth everyday.
